Playing For Vipers Is A Dream Come True – Watambala
After a fantastic debut season at Vipers SC, midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala claims that playing for the club is a fulfilled dream for him.
The youngster who was promoted from St. Mary’s SS Kitende at the beginning of this season found it easy to penetrate into the first team after superb performances.
“It was a dream come true to play for Vipers, since I joined St. Mary’s Kitende, I was dreaming about playing for this club,” Watambala was quoted by Vipers TV.
“I want to give all my best to the club by scoring more goals and to win more trophies for the club,” he added.
Watambala attributes his soothing settling to life at Vipers to his coaches and players who always encourages him to work hard towards his dream.
“The love for the club, the coaches and the players always gives me confidence to perform better each and every day.”
“The coaches who coach at school are the same coaches at Vipers and most of the players come from St. Mary’s Kitende. So this provides conducive environment and confidence for me to perform well,” he noted.
The youngster impressed many spectators when he grabbed the Man of The Match award on his first on his senior debut for Vipers after his midfield dominance and passing display.
“Our game against Proline in Pilsner Super 8 remains my best because I scored on my debut, in league I have played three games so far where I scored one goal and one assist.”
“I feel so grateful and happy for this, I promise to score more goals because as an attacking midfielder it’s part of me to score goals. My dream is to play professional football in Europe,” he noted.
It was because of the superb performance that Watambala received his maiden Cranes call up during the just concluded Championship of African Nations (CHAN) qualifiers.
