NRM Primaries: Minister Bahati Opponent Quits Race

Nicholas Arinaitwe, one of the contestants in the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries for Ndorwa County West parliamentary seat has quit the race ahead of Friday’s elections.

Arinaitwe says he decided to pull out of the race because of what he claims are fake registers in the hands of one of the candidates.

He also says there has been non adherence to Covid 19 guidelines, as some of the candidates have been holding rallies normally, while others have been “using NRM official structures as their agents”

As such, he says he decided to quit the race because there would be no fairness.

He says he will be running as an independent candidate in the 2021 polls.

David Bahati the state finance minister of planning is the incumbent Member of Parliament   for Ndorwa County west; a seat he has occupied since 2006.

Now that Arinaitwe is out, the minister will be facing Mark Kworoba Mashemererwa and Simpson Mpirirwe.
