Three Bodies Retrieved from Lake Bunyonyi

The bodies of 3 people that drowned in Lake Bunyonyi on Tuesday have been recovered and retrieved from the Water.

According to the Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate, post-mortem has been done and bodies handed over to relatives for burial.

On Tuesday evening at Hakyabatunga stretch on Lake Bunyonyi, seven people while traveling on a canoe, were hit by a strong wave that overturned the boat.

Four of them were rescued by residents who were traveling on the same lake while the other three disappeared.

Those rescued are; Kabuzi Agnes, Tayebwa Susan and her four months old child and Kanyonyozi Tito.

Maate says the group was coming from Kyevu, in Butanda sub county, after a Youth Elections function.
