Israel Toto Cup | Third Round

Maccabi Petach Tkiva 1-4 Hapoel Kfar Saba

Uganda Cranes striker Kizito William Luwagga starred with a brace during Hapoel Kfar Saba’s 1-4 away win against hosts Maccabi Petach Tkiva on Saturday evening at HaMoshava Stadium.

Luwagga broke the deadlock 12 minutes in off a Tom Shelach assist before completing his brace (fourth for Hapoel) on the 76th minute mark thanks to goalkeeper Matan Zalmanovich’s long ball.

Tal Machlof and Sagi Dror scored the other two goals for the visitors while Guy Hadida managed to cut on the heavy deficit with a consolation. Eitan Azulai was sent off for an early shower after off a second bookable offense.

The win was the first one for Luwagga’s Hapoel Kfar Saba in the Israel Toto Cup having registered a 3-0 loss to Maccabi Netanya and 1-1 draw with Hapoel Hadera in the first two rounds.

They are now 2nd placed in group B with four points from three games, tied up with 3rd placed Hapoel Petach Tkiva on points. Maccabi Netanya sits six points on top while Hapoel Hadera has just two points.

Luwagga joined Hapoel in January 2020 as a free agent having run out of contract with Romanian side Politenhica Lasi and recently extending his stay for another year.

Last season, the cranes attacker helped Hapoel Kfar Saba survive the relegation after netting twice in 10 league appearances before the league climax.
