Lord Mayor Hopeful Mayanja Drops the Name ‘Chameleone’
Ugandan singer and one of the people contesting for the Kampala Lord Mayor seat Joseph Mayanja has elected to drop his stage name “Chameleone”
The 41 year old CEO of Leone Island Music Empire has carried the name throughout his music career which spans over 25 years.
In a poll deed signed 7th August 2020 signed a published in the Uganda Gazette, the singer says he will no longer carry the name Chameleon in all his dealings and other partnerships
“I Mayanja Joseph of P.O Box 6392 Kampala formerly known as Mayanja Joseph Chameleone, a citizen of Uganda, do hereby absolutely renounce and abandon the use of my former name of Mayanja Joseph Chameleon and lieu, therefore assume as from day hereof of my new name Mayanja Joseph.”
“In witness where of I attach my hand and subscribed my name of Mayanja Joseph. ”
Mayanja is one of the many musicians who have decided to join active politics by taking up various elective positions in the forth coming General Elections.
