Kasese Is Still FDC – Muhindo

Bukozo East MP Harold Muhindo Tony has dismissed talk that the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) support in Kasese has significantly dwindled since the last polls.

In recent years there have been projections that the western district could slip back into the National Resistance Movement’s (NRM) hands.

Since 2016, Kasese has been a base for Government’s Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), and the recent defection of the district woman MP Winnie Kiiza to the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) added fuel to the speculation.

However, while addressing FDC leaders on Thursday; Muhindo said these fears were unfounded, adding that the party is still solid in Kasese going by what is on the ground.

“I heard statements running all over that now FDC is gone in Kasese; but the People of Kasese have alternatives (to replace Kiiza). They had people on standby; over ten ladies, running to stand for that position,” Muhindo said.

“I can tell you that we are ready to deliver Kasese again as it is.”

Muhindo also pointed out that the District Party leadership under Saulo Maate has just concluded Primaries where people made their demands clear.

“When we went through this primary election, they decided that I would run unopposed. The Hon Katusabe Atkins from Bukonzo West won with a landslide of 96%. The Hon Nzoghu William won with a landslide of 97.8%,” Muhindo disclosed.

“Kasese has already finished its Primary elections; that is the level of readiness,” he stated.
