Mufti Mubajje Calls for Impartiality Ahead Of 2021 Elections

The Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramathan Mubajje has appealed to government and security agencies to be impartial while manning the 2020/2021elections.

Sheikh Mubajje, the current Inter-Religious Council of Uganda (IRCU) chairperson also tasked government and Electoral Commission to ensure a levelled platform for to all candidates regardless of their political affiliations.

He noted that since the candidates will hold virtual campaigns, there is a need for all political parties to be given equal chances on media and other platforms and not blocking some.

Mubajje made the remarks on Saturday during the ground breaking for the construction of Ntungamo District Kadhi residential house at Ntungamo Municipality Main Mosque.

He also commissioned classroom blocks at Maato Muslim Primary school and Kemishego SS all in Ntungamo District.

Sheikh Mubajje told on the other hand, Muslims to pray for peace, unity and spiritual revival saying that it will reduce conflicts ahead of 2021 general elections.

At the event, Ntungamo Municipality MP Hon Gerald Karuhanga hailed the Muslims for cooperation which has enabled Maato Muslim PS to benefit from Ntungamo Municipality.

The Ntungamo District Woman MP Hon Beatrice Rwakimaari asked Muslims to uphold unity and economic transformation if they are to eradicate poverty at household level.
