Wakiso: Robbers Raid Maize Factory, Disarm Security Guard
On Tuesday night at about 3am at Kisasa village, Wakiso Sub County, Wakiso district, a group of six robbers including one female armed with pangas and other house breaking instruments raided a factory and robbed it.
The factory that was attacked is called MACKS Investments Ltd, dealing in textiles and maize processing.
According to reports, the robbers disarmed the security guard, a one Godfrey Rwabwoma from Security plus company and robbed Shs 1.5 million, a computer and Mobile phones.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesman Patrick Onyango said that Buloba Police Station was informed and responded immediately.
“They engaged robbers thereby shooting one of them called Joseph Tamale in the arm hence disabling him. He was arrested while the others escaped with injuries,” Onyango said.
The arrested suspect was taken for treatment at J & M Clinic where he is being tightly guarded.
A police file has been opened and statements have been recorded from various witnesses including police officers and suspect.
The telephone numbers that were robbed from victims have been submitted to cyber offices in Naguru.
Following the incident, security has been beefed up at the affected factory and other sister factories.
“We appeal to members of the public and clinics in and around Kampala that if you see anybody with fresh gun wounds report to the nearest Police station or post,” Onyango said.
