Nicholas Kasozi on KCCA’s Want Away Player List
Midfielder Nicholas Kasozi is reportedly on the long list of players that might be showed the exit door at Uganda Premier League side, Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club.
The former Synergy FC midfielder went AWOL at the Kasassiro Boys midway through the previous season amidst having misunderstandings with the club’s gaffer, Mike Hillary Mutebi.
Kasozi signed for the 13-time league winners at the start of the 2018/2019 season from Sports Club Villa, winning the domestic league title the same season.
Others players that could be axed during this off-season include midfielders Sadam Ibrahim Juma, Jackson Nunda and Muzamir Mutyaba; strikers Mike Mutyaba, Erisa Sekisambu, winger Simon Serunkuma, and goalkeeper Jamilu Malyamungu.
Sadam Juma joined the Kasassiro Boys in 2017 from Express FC but his three year spell at Lugogo has been affected by constant injuries which have kept him on the sidelines on many occasions.
Mike Mutyaba who played an integral part in the team’s 2018/2019 season triumph in the league is expected to soon announce his retirement from football.
The long serving Muzamir Mutyaba has been off form for this season but could make a move to Tanzanian side Azam FC, a club that has already shown interest in the veteran midfield gem.
Another player in Simon Serunkuma, who joined KCCA from Tooro United has struggled to win a starting position. Striker Sekisambu is now a free agent and goalkeeper Malyamungu failed to beat competition from Charles Lukwago and Ali Mwirusi.
Coach Mutebi aims at rejuvenating the squad prior to next season’s domestic and continental action by bringing in fresh talent and shedding off those considered surplus to requirement.
