Masaka Woman Delivers First Child at 60

Residents of Masaka district on Friday were stunned by the news of a 60-year old resident, Ms Safina Namukwaya, giving birth to her first born child at Masaka Referral hospital.

Namukwaya is a resident of Bulawula village in Lwabenge sub county.

The entire health facility was engulfed in shock as the news spread.

Namukwaya, also looking dumbfounded, praised God for what she termed a miracle.

She said she had been in marriage for 40 years without a child.

“Many people judged and abused me for being barren but, I decided to leave everything to the Almighty who has finally answered my prayers,” she said.

She named the baby girl Sarah.

Namukwaya further called upon all women in childless marriages not to lose hope but to put their trust in God.

Hajji Badru Walusimbi the husband to Namukwaya said this achievement was all because of trust, togetherness and power of the Almighty Allah.

“I am happy for my dear one because we have passed through a lot of challenges and moments. ”

Many people gathered to witness and congratulate Namukwaya for this miracle baby girl.
