Umar Sematta Demands Rematch With Golola
Uganda’s Kickboxing fraternity has been greatly dominated by two giants in Golola Moses and Umar Sematta for the last five years.
The two drivers of Ugandan Kickboxing have of recent had two face offs with each claiming bragging rights over the other.
The feud is however far from over as Sematta alias the pain is calling for a decider dubbed ‘Fight of Champions.’
This comes after Semata, who has been silent since the defeat is crying for a foul play that happened during their Freedom City rumble that saw him loose by a technical knock-out.
Sematta who while appearing as a guest on an evening sports show on a local radio station (Pearl FM) last evening claimed Golola used unsportsmanlike tricks to which the referee fell victim to and ended the match in his favour.
“I was not contented and convinced with the way Golola Moses defeated me last year. Professionally you can’t go two consecutive rounds focusing more on boxing than kicking, automatically that’s not kickboxing but rather boxing,” said Sematta
He added, “Secondly, I slipped in the ring and I kneed my head while I was down on the floor. I was unable to continue and the win was awarded to Golola which was unfair because the fight was supposed to be cancelled,”
Sematta notes that he has many challengers to face this year but is hopeful in securing a match against Golola before the end of the year.
“I have so far had three professional fighters from abroad and I’m optimistic about having another fight provided the World Kickboxing Federation sanctions it. As a fighter, I’m not the one who decides on which opponent I should fight with but rather the Federation,” he continued.
It’s still in doubt if the Fight of Champions will return in an epic round three amid the COVID-19 pandemic but the Uganda Kickboxing Federation will decide its fate at the climax of the 32 day presidential directive.
