Big League: UPDF Banks on Second Round Form as Kitara Visits

UPDF FC Vs Kitara FC

Uganda People’s Defense Force Football Club (UPDF FC) will build on their perfect second round winning streak when they play host to Kitara as the FUFA Big League Match-day 11 gets underway in the Rwenzori Group on Wednesday.

The Army-side has won all its three games played since the second round of the regular season kicked off, hence will bank on the stellar record against visiting Kitara at the Bombo barracks playground.

The group leaders have registered three successive victories against Kansai Plascon (2-1), Kigezi Home Boys (1-2) and a 0-1 away win over Ndejje University FC, bagging maximum points since the restart of the final phase.

Kitara, the visitors for this fixture seek bouncing back to winning ways following their disappointing 1-2 home defeat to Water Football Club in Hoima.

The reverse fixture ended 2-2 at Kigaya playground in Hoima.

UPDF FC will rely on Herbert Katongole, Katende Ezekiel, goalkeeper Kisembo Douglas, Sydney Senyonga, team skipper Denis Ssekitoleko and Gwaidho Tusaba Najib.

UPDF has 23 points on top of the group, one ahead of Kitara with Ndejje University following the pack in 3rd position.

A win for UPDF will see them stretch their point lead to four points, while Kitara will leapfrog the log leaders provided they walk out of the barracks with maximum points and a draw will not affect the standings.
