Sentongo’s Finesse Ensures Kyetume Victory

Kyetume 3-2 Onduparaka

Veteran striker, Robert Sentongo scored a late minute penalty as Kyetume ascended to a 3-2 win over visiting Onduparaka at the Mighty Arena, Jinja on Friday.

Sentongo had earlier converted another penalty in the same half, taking his tally to eight goals of this 2019/2020 campaign.

Goals against Vipers SC, Proline (2), Mbarara City (2) and URA FC, see the striker move up the scoring charts.

Baker Buyala scored the other goal for Kyetume while Amis Muwonge and Julius Malingumu were on target for the Caterpillars.

Baker Buyala put the hosts in an early lead just after 27 minutes, with a clinical finish past Onduparaka goalkeeper, Yusuf Wasswa.

Kyetume goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa later made a double save to deny Ezra Bida close range efforts, leaving the Caterpillars trailing at halftime.

Onduparaka put matters level five minutes from the restart, when second half substitute Muwonge made a brilliant run off Rajab Kakooza’s through ball and fired home for the visitors’ equaliser.

The 60th minute mark saw Kyetume restore their lead when Onduparaka’s goal scorer Muwonge was judged to have handled the ball in box. Sentongo made no mistake from the spot.

Onduparaka, nevertheless, did not rest on their laurels and found the equaliser off a Julius Malingumu well converted penalty, three minutes from time.

Kyetume still had more in the tank and got a late minute penalty following a foul on Sentongo, who sent goalkeeper Wasswa the opposite side from 12 yards.

Kyetume, playing their debut season have now propelled to 9th on the log, with 30 points from 24 matches.

Onduparaka suffered the 11th defeat of the season but remained 8th on the table with 31 points.

Match day 25 sees Kyetume remain at the same stadium but as visitors to play Busoga United while Onduparaka will play away to BUL FC.
