Magwali Heads SC Villa to Laboured Victory Over Kajjansi United

Kajjansi United 0-1 SC Villa

Ronald Magwali scored a brilliant header as SC Villa edged Regional league side 0-1 on Sunday at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku to storm round of 16.

Magwali met Fred Agandu’s perfect cross after 29 minutes and the visitors held on up to the final whistle.

Kajjansi United had ejected Vipers SC from the tournament but failed to escape another hurdle from a UPL team.

Kajjansi United tried to boss the midfield as Marvin Mayanja displayed a perfect game but was let down by his fellow players who missed some scoring chances.

However, credit goes to Villa goalie Saidi Keni who was on his mercy to deny Michael Male and Michael Kawoya attempts.

Simon Kazibwe Leah and Henry Kawuma also paused questions to the nine-time winners with Marvin Nyanzi and Umar Kayemba but failed to find the back of the net.

Benson Muhindo, Nicholas Kabonge and David Owori failed to stretch Villa’s lead in the game having squandered their chances and Kajjansi United’s goalkeeper pulled out two spectacular saves.

Victory for SC Villa saw them propel to the round of 16 joining other UPL teams like KCCA, URA, Tooro United, Wakiso Giants, Proline among others.
