KCCA vs Maroons Preview: Visitors Seek Redemption
The StarTimes Uganda Premier League match day 21 gets underway today Tuesday 4th February when holders KCCA FC host Maroons at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo. The much anticipated match will be between 2nd placed KCCA and 10th positioned Maroons.
The reverse fixture between the Kasassiro Boys and the prisoners ended 1-3 in favour of the guests at Luzira prisons playground.
KCCA has registered five wins and drawn twice with Maroons in their previous seven games hence the visitors will be looking forward to halting the poor record.
However, the visitors have won twice so far on the road this season and will bank on the away form to encounter their opponents.
KCCA lost their previous league match 2-1 to URA away in Bombo while Maroons played to a 1-1 draw against Tooro United.
Prior to this match, KCCA FC’s midfielder Julius Poloto and defender John Revita limped off injured which produced a huge setback to the club.
Revita’s absence means Samuel Kato, Filbert Obenchan or Peter Magambo will start at the heart of the defense against Maroons FC.
Also, youngster Sadat Anaku, Muzamiru Mutyaba ,Revita, Julius Poloto, Jackson Nunda, Hassan Jurua and John Odumegwu are all injured with Hassan Ssenyonjo missing a league license.
KCCA will have hope in Erisa Sekisambu, Mike Mutyaba and Sunday Opio while Maroons will rely on goal leading top scorer Steven Mukwala who has 13 goals on his account.
The last time both parties played at the same Stadium, KCCA FC outclassed Maroons FC 6-1 last season.
