KCCA Vs Express: League Holders Can’t Afford to Drop Points

StarTimes Uganda Premier League

KCCA FC vs Express

KCCA Football Club will host Express FC in an old Kampala Derby on Saturday evening at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.

KCCA will need to create no room for errors as a win will close gap on table leaders Vipers SC to two points who lost their game on Friday against URA.

The first leg encounter between both teams ended 1-3 at Kavumba as Express faltered. But we’re under George Ssimwogerere who was replaced with Wasswa Bbosa.

Bbosa has won two consecutive games in the league since his arrival at the club with 0-1 and 2-1 away and home victories against Onduparaka and Tooro United respectively.

The hosts will rely on their previous performances in all competitions having registered five wins from the seven games played than Express which has had three wins from their last six.

KCCA players Sekisambu Erisa, Sadam Juma, Simon Sserunkuma, Mike Mutyaba and John Revita once played for the Red Eagles and will be up against their former paymasters.

The return of Julius Poloto, Kato Samuel, Sadat Anaku and Kizza Bukenya from injuries will be of a great importance to revamp KCCA’s camp despite Lawrence Bukenya and Sam Senyonjo being out due to license issues.

Mike Mutyaba and Muzamiru Mutyaba most likely not to feature in the game because of the setbacks the got this week. The pair lost their siblings.

According to KCCA FC website, Joseph Kafumbe is back to school and so will not feature in this game as midfielder Nunda Jackson and Jurua Hassan are out due to injury and illness.

KCCA played to a barren draw with Vipers in their previous fixture while Express edged Tooro United 2-1 at Kavumba.

For Express, defender Lawrence Kigonya was given marching orders as head coach Wasswa Bbosa defeated Onduparaka on his return to the club.

Kigonya commonly known as “Pantaleo” will return having served his suspension against Tooro United, a game that Express won 2-1 at home.

Express will rely on Eric Kambale, Frank Kalanda, Frank Senyondo and Dissan Galiwango basing on their recent performances.

An away victory for Express will move them to the 8th on 30 points skipping two places. But a draw will leave them on 27 points and should pray for Bright Stars to slip against Police.
