Sports Club Villa Completes A Double Over Rivals Express Fc In A Boring Encounter At Bombo Barracks

Emmanuel Wasswa was the heroe of the day as he scored the only goal of the game as Sports Club Villa edged their fierce rivals Express Fc 1-0 at Bombo Barracks Grounds.

Wasswa headed perfectly a David Owori  quality cross in the second half to inspire record champions to victory that saw then complete double over Express Fc for the first time since the 2014/15 season.

Express Fc under George Ssimwogerere is still struggling for consistency had some decent chances in the second half by Daniel Shabena and Frank Ssenyondo failed to hit the target.

In the first half of the game, Owori had a great opportunity to fire the hosts in the lead but was denied by Express Fc goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga.

Later on, Bashir Mutanda and Nicholas Kabonge had attempts on goal but goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga was spot on.

After 68 minutes past the game, Emmanuel Wasswa headed the ball past Mathias Muwanga in goal thus a 1-0 victory over the rivals.

Victory sees the Jogoos move to third place with 33 points gathered in 19 games while Express Fc who suffered their 10th defeat are on 21 points.

In the next fixture, Sc Villa will face Police Fc on Monday 3rd February at Startimes stadium whereas Express Fc will entertain Mbarara City on Sunday at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
