Primary Seven examination results to be released today
Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) results will be released today morning, in Kampala by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Janet Museveni.
The executive secretary of the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB), Dan Odongo, on Wednesday evening confirmed the release of the results; following his team’s briefing of the minister.
“We are ready to have the examination results passed on to the education ministry tomorrow. We will have the release of results Friday morning,” Odongo explained on Wednesday.
The results will be released from Kampala Parents School, unlike in the previous years when the examination results would be released from the Office of the Prime Minister auditorium.
The results to be released are for about 695,400 candidates who registered and sat for PLE last year. Of these candidates, 475,852 are from UPE schools. Parents will be expected to pick the results of their candidates from their respective schools.
Odongo said: “No parent is expected to pick results from the UNEB head office.”
According to the education ministry’s program, Senior One students will start their first term in February. Consequently, the selection of students to be admitted to Senior One is expected in a couple of weeks.
