Sebastian Desabre guided Uganda to the round of 16 during this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Egyptian giants Pyramids Fc have appointed Abdul Aziz Abdul Shafi ‘Zizo’ as new headcoach.

The development comes hours after the club part ways with comer Cranes headcoach Sebastian Desabre.

Aziz retired from football in 1982 and was immediately appointed football director for Al Ahly, winning the CAF champions league in the same year.

Aziz has previously managed several Egyptian clubs who are Al-Ittihad, Al-Sakndary, Al-Masry, Baladeyet Al-Mahalla, Al-Mokawloon Al-Arab and As at Suez.

He had three different spells as Al Ahly interim coach and guided the club to the 2015 Egyptian Super Cup in 2015.

He has also worked as assistant manager for Mahmoud El Gohary for the Egypt first team in the early 1990’s.

Pyramids are 7th placed on the table with 12 points after eight games.
