UPL: Police detained at Luzira as Maroons win battle of the forces

Maroons 2-1 Police FC

Police FC coach, Abdalla Mubiru’s woes are far from over after being beaten by Maroons in a battle of the forces at Luzira in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Despite leading the game for over 30 minutes in the second half, only two minutes changed the equation for the law enforcers as they were beaten by Maroons 2-1.

Police who came into the game having beaten moneybags Wakiso Giants had a reason to smile when they took the lead in the 52nd minute through Ben Ocen to send their fans into frenzy.

However, as they say, never count eggs before they hatch because it needed only two minutes for Steven Mukwala who is on loan from Vipers SC to score two crucial goals that ensured Maroons beat Police.

Mukwala bagged the equalizer when he headed the ball in the right corner to beat the Police goalkeeper in the 85th minute but two minutes later, he was at it again when he scored the winner in the 87th minute to seal the win for Douglas Bamweyana.

The win ensured Maroons are 6th on 16 points whereas Police remained in the drop zone with only five points.
