Brian Kalumba came close to opening the scoring with 15 minutes on the clock when goalkeeper Rogers Omeddwa fumbled to hold the ball in his area.

Edward Golola’s men struggled to find the same intensity and focus they had shown against Kyetume FC three days earlier, although Fahad Bayo forced a smart save out of Omeddwa.

Dan Sserunkuma went closet with a fierce drive that rattled off an opponent on the stroke of half-time but failed to break down Busoga United before the breather.

Karim Watambala was dispossessed when well-placed in the area, Nkuubi saw a deflected effort palmed wide and frustrations continued to grow.

But with three minutes of added time to the end, Vipers finally broke the deadlock when substitute Byaruhanga controlled well Fahad Bayo’s through pass to calmly put the ball beyond Omeddwa’s reach.

This was Vipers’ first ever Victory away against the Jinja based club, they consolidated themselves on the top of the table with.
