Recent dip in form was just a one off – KCCA FC’s Mike Mutebi
KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi has laughed at critics for writing off his Kasasiro Boys team after a recent dip in form.
The 13 time Uganda Premier League champions have suffered a torrid start to the season going five games in all competitions without a win, prompting fans to start questioning happenings at the Lugogo based clubs.
On Friday, the team however annihilated Onduparaka 4-0 in a game where veteran Mike Mutyaba was on song at Lugogo, scoring a hat trick, whereas Erisa Ssekisambu and Sadat Anaku, too were on form.
Speaking during the post-match press conference on Friday, Mutebi said the slump was just a one-off.
“It is business as usual. We were not scoring but playing well. We have been having the ball in the midfield but not using it well in the final third but we were playing well,”Mutebi said.
He insisted the torrid spell was just a one-off despite his team played well but failed to convert the numerous chances they created in all the games they played.
“Look at today, we created 11 chances and scored only four.”
Commenting on Mutyaba’s hat trick, the flamboyant tactician laughed it off saying nothing much has changed for the veteran player noting that he has only recovered his scoring boots.
“We need to be more present in the final third of the pitch and score goals,” he noted.
The win on Friday saw the Kasasiro boys move to 7th position on 10 points.
KCCA FC will play new league entrants, Kyetume FC from Mukono in their next StarTimes Uganda Premier League game at Lugogo on Tuesday evening.
