Muntu’s ANT ready to join forces with other opposition political parties in 2021
The Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) has reaffirmed it’s commitment to join other political parties in fronting one candidate ahead of 2021.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters in Kampala on Friday, the party’s spokesperson, Wilberforce Sseryazi said the party welcomed the move by opposition parties to unite for a common cause.
He said that opposition political parties should not forget to work towards strengthening their structures so that if the event coalition building fails, the parties can still operate independently and strong.
“We have an open policy and we are ready to operate with all political forces of change in whatever way that can help bring about change and bring about the good change whether by fronting the candidate or whether by fronting many candidates so we are open to that,” he said.
He said ANT’s priority for now is building the party to be strong, sound, organised and efficient.
“Even when we eventually join with our friends, if we do, we would need all these parties to be strong to be organised and to have organisation capabilities to bring about the change desired by all Ugandans,” he said.
He said it is premature to rush and form coalition before internal capacities and besides that the party had just made five months and two days ago.
Alice Alaso ,the deputy national coordinator said :”We have commenced on the programme and moved out to the various sub regions of this country, so in all those meetings we have met representatives in various district of Uganda,”
She told journalists that the party is now fully represented in a number of districts in different parts of the country.
