Drama ensued in Kisii after police stormed a secondary school teacher’s house and arrested him after finding him with a female form three student locked in his house on Saturday evening.
The police had been reliably informed that the teacher had taken his relationship with the student beyond the confines of the classroom to another level that was inappropriate.
Concerned area residents saw the minor entering the teacher’s house in Itibo market and tipped the police who moved in swiftly.
He is alleged to have locked the girl in his house with motives that are the subject of an ongoing investigation.
Kisii County Police Commander, Martin Kibet confirmed the incident that is the latest in a worrying trend, adding that the girl has been taken to hospital for examination to ascertain whether she was defiled.
Kibet revealed that the teacher whose identity remains concealed is in police custody, pending the outcome of the medical examination of the minor.
He confirmed that once a report is given, necessary steps will be taken.

Worrying trend
Last month, a secondary school teacher identified as Nathan Kosgei set the social media on fire after he was busted with a form three student with whom he had an inappropriate relationship with, including sexual contact in a lodging.
Reports indicate that Kosgei who is a teacher at Simotwet Secondary School lured the minor who is one of his students to a lodging, ready for a hot date and a romantic day before curious members of the public spoiled the party.
Alert members of the public alerted the area chief after seeing the student in one of the lodging rooms which the teacher had reserved for their little get-together.
Transmara East Chief Richard Bett confirmed that he contacted local police who raided the lodging and forced their way into the room where they found the teacher with the minor, exposing their hidden romantic affair.
