NRM Unveils Museveni’s Official Campaign Portrait for 2021 Elections
The ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has unveiled the official campaign portrait of its presidential candidate, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ahead of the 2021 elections.
The portrait was unveiled to journalists by NRM Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba at party headquarters in Kampala on Sunday.
Lumumba revealed at the event that the president’s campaign shall be under the theme “securing the future” which said is best explained under the four core principles of NRM, that is patriotism, pan Africanism, social economic transformation and democracy.
Asked about the missing name “Tibuhaburwa” on the portrait, Lumumba responded that as soon as the due process of upholding the name by the Electoral Commission is done, Museveni’s new name will be adopted.
Lumumba disclosed to the media that the party will present its presidential candidate (Museveni) to the Electoral Commission for nomination on November 2, 2020.
Recently, NRM announced that it had submitted to the Electoral Commission, 5 million signatures of Ugandans supporting Museveni’s presidential bid.
Lumumba applauded NRM fraternity for the support given the party and informed opposition political parties that the garnering of 5 million signatures is NRM’s sign of victory in the 2021 elections.
“I want to thank the NRM fraternity for the strong show of support. I also want to inform our sister political parties that this is a clear signal for 2021 national elections,” she said.
