Tito Okello Attributes Gor Mahia Move to Advice From Compatriots Wafula, Sserunkuma

Dreadlocked striker Tito Okello has revealed the secret behind his move to Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia Football Club.

The towering center forward was unveiled at the K’Ogalos this week on a two-year contract deal having run out of contract with Uganda Premier League side Vipers Sports Club.

In his first interview with Gor Mahia FC, the lanky forward attached his move to the encouragement from compatriots Dan Sserunkuma and Noah Wafula.

Okello told the club website that he received a lot of advice from his former teammates who had played for the 19-time KPL winners before he could make a final decision.

“I had always wanted to come but given that I had the luck of playing alongside Dani at Vipers in Uganda and that he is a good friend, it was wise for me to ask him because I knew how much respect he commands around here,” Okello told the club Website.

“He told me the club invests heavily in quality midfield players. And with that, a striker gets the tools to score many goals,” he added.

It should be remembered that Sserunkuma once featured for the Green Army and won two League titles before ending his two and a half years stints towards the end of 2014.

Okello also heaped praise on Noah Wafula whom he claims endorsed his move to Gor Mahia basing on the conducive environment around the club.

“Innocent Wafula too was full of praise for the club and told me I will enjoy my time here. He told me the fans want nothing but goals and wins so I am ready for that,” Okello concluded.

Before joining Vipers, Okello had featured for Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC), BUL FC, African Lyon, Mbeya City, and Benfica de Macau.
