Rubanda: Councillor Found Dead in House

Police in Rubanda district are investigating circumstances that led to the death of the Ruhija Sub County councillor for the disabled.

The deceased is 55-year-old Sikorastika Tushemerirwe, a resident of Mbulameizi cell, Buhumuriro parish in Ruhija Sub County.

Tushemerirwe represented people with disabilities in Ruhija Sub County.

It is reported that on Wednesday morning, Tushemereirwe’s body was found in her house where she was staying alone.

The Kigezi region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate said that Police at Ruhija police post was later notified about the matter by Clement Byomuhangi the Ruhija Sub County LCIII Chairperson.

The officers visited the scene and post mortem was done on the body to ascertain cause of death as investigations into the death are ongoing.
