KCCA FC Confirm Goalkeeper Malyamungu’s Departure

13-time Uganda Premier League Champions KCCA Football Club has officially let go of goalkeeper Jamil Malyamungu ending his 3-year tenure at Lugogo.

Malyamungu has been the club’s third choice goalkeeper in the pecking order being an understudy to captain Charles Lukwago and the youthful Ali Mwerusi.

He joined the Kasassiro Boys as a free agent in August 2017 having left Luzira prisons based club Maroon FC. Before departing the prisons owned side, he had inspired the club to FUFA Big League triumph.

Previously, Malyamungu also played for UPDF FC, Water FC and Bugerere in the Masaza Cup tournament and now becomes the second goalkeeper to leave the club after Tom Ikara who signed for Police FC.

Other players that won’t be part of KCCA’s squad next season include Eric Ssenjobe (joined Police), Jackson Nunda (joined URA FC), Mike Mutyaba (announced retirement), and Mustafa Kizza who signed for Major League Soccer side Monteal Impact.

The others on KCCA’s want away list include midfielder Nicholas Kasozi, striker Erisa Ssekisambu, Saddam Juma and Muzamir Mutyaba and Nigerian import John Odumegu.

The club has so far signed Italian Stefano Mazengo Loro, Charles Lwanga, Ashraf Mugume, Denis Iguma, Bright Anukani, Brian Aheebwa and forward Samson Kigozi.
