NRM Central Executive Committee to Sit Today
The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) will convene today to discuss a number of issues pertaining the forth coming 2021 General elections.
This meeting is expected to be held at State House Entebbe starting at 12:00 noon. This was confirmed last evening by Hon Justine Kasule Lumumba, the Secretary General for the party.
“Tomorrow July 16, 2020, the Central Executive Committee (CEC) is going to meet to deliberate on the Road map of the NRM electoral process. We shall keep you posted on the outcomes of our deliberations,” Kasule remarked.
In her recent communication to CEC members last Friday, she announced that this meeting which had been scheduled for Sunday July 12, 2020 had been pushed to Thursday this week.
Although the reasons for the postponement were not included, she emphasized that the venue and the agenda of the meeting had remained the same as earlier communicated.
The issues on the agenda are; the communication from the party chairperson as well as consideration of the long awaited NRM road map.
The Party’s top leadership is expected to come up with regulations under which Party primaries will be held without violating the prevailing directives and guidelines for the prevention of COVID-19.
