High Court Holds Special Juvenile Criminal Session

The head of Criminal Division of High court Justice Wilson Kwesiga will today (Wednesday) commence a special session for Juvenile offenders who are charged with capital offences.

These sessions will be held at their remand home located at Naguru.

According to the cause list released by Her Worship Mary Kaitesi Kisakye, the Deputy Registrar in charge of Criminal Division, the session will have 20 cases with 23 offenders.

These are facing charges ranging from Aggravated Defilement, Aggravated Robbery, Rape, Murder and aggravated murder.

The juveniles were committed to High court from various Magistrates courts around Kampala like Buganda Road, City hall, Nabweru, Law Development Center (LDC), Kira and Mwanga ii court.

In Uganda children below 18 years accused of crimes are detained at remand homes and later sent to Prison once they attain 18.
