NRA’s Fierce Fighter, Brig Bell Tushabe, Dies at Nakasero Hospital

Brigadier General, Jackson Bell Tushabe, is dead. He was 61.

Bell passed away on Tuesday morning at Nakasero Hospital where he succumbed to multiple organ failure.

This was after an operation of the intestines.

Bell, as he is fondly known, was among the toughest fighters in the National Resistance Army (NRA) war that brought President Museveni to power in 1986.

Bell belonged to the dare devil category of commanders like Jet Mwebaze (RIP), Stanley Muhangi (RIP), Col. Patrick Lumumba (RIP) and Brig Matayo Kyaligonza.

He has been undeployed since early 1990s.

Bell retreated to his posh residence in Ggaba, a Kampala suburb, where he joined fishing.
