Man Shot by Security Guard in Kabale

Police in Kabale is investigating circumstances under which a 27-year-old suspected thief was shot and injured.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman identifies the victim as Nuwamanya Yonasani of Upper Bugongi in Kabale municipality.

He was shot on Tuesday at around 8:30 pm at the Makanga NWSC main reservoir tank by one Laban Taremwa a supervisor of Swatt Security Ltd Kabale.

Taremwa is said to have been responding to an emergency call by the guard at that point one Mukama Alrinda Martin, that had been attacked by thugs.

Maate says the attackers were three in number and had vandalised the reservoir tank and removed the cover which they took.

“As the guard pursued them, that’s when one of them attacked and tried to disarm him but luckily enough his supervisor arrived and he shot and disabled him in the leg and arm leading others to escape.

He says that   the victim was rushed to Kabale referral hospital.
