Kabale Man Held for Raping His Mother

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Kabale for allegedly raping his 77-year-old biological mother.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman identifies the suspect as Justus Byamukama of Kashenyi Village in Kamuganguzi Sub County, Kabale District.

Maate says the incident took place on June 28th 2020 in the same village.

Byamukama reportedly met his mother who was returning from Hakatusi Trading Centre and threatened to kill her if she did not relent.

Maate says the suspect then proceeded to force himself on his mother in a potatoes garden, after which he fled from the scene.

“The victim reported the matter to the village chairman and a hunt for the Byamukama was mounted and he was arrested this evening from his hiding place and handed over to Police” Maate said.

Byamukama will be charged with aggravated rape and incest according to the police mouthpiece.
