TopBet Donates Vehicle, Food to Covid19 Taskforce

TopBet Uganda, a renown betting company in the country has donated a brand new double cabin PickUp truck and foodstuff to government of Uganda to help in fight against Covid 19 outbreak.

TopBet also contributed 200,000kgs of posho and beans to help out vulnerable Ugandans that are not able to access food due to the lockdown.

It also contributed to the donation by the Uganda Bookmakers and Gaming Association that contributed 23tonnes of maize and 13 tons of beans.

The donation was received by the National Task Force for Covid 19 Fund headed by the Minister in Charge of General Duties, Hon Mary Karoro Okurut.

In her remarks, Hon Okurut thanked TopBet for the generous donation noting that if Uganda is to defeat Covid 19, it needs combined effort of everyone.

Since March when Uganda confirmed its first case of Covid 19, the country has been under a lockdown as a measure to prevent the spread of the disease.

Many vulnerable Ugandans have lost their sources of income and hence are unable to provide daily meals for themselves.

Currently Uganda has 55 confirmed cases of Covid 19, 28 patients have already recovered and been set home.
