Coronavirus: 2020 Tri-Nation Pre CHAN Tourney Postponed
The outbreak of the global pandemic, COVID 19 is continuously affecting the various sports disciplines.
Following the postponement and withdrawal of a series of different sports disciplines, the latest being postponed is the Tri-Nation Pre Chan tournament which to be hosted in Uganda, sports industry has been severely hit to say the least.
The inaugural tournament which was meant to put nations in good shape in preparation for the African Nations Championship was scheduled to start on 17th March at the Mandela National Stadium.
FUFA confirmed the postponement in a statement posted on its official Facebook page.
“The Three nation tournament between Uganda, Mali and Zambia that was due to kick off on 17th and end on 21st March 2020 has now been postponed to 24th -28th March 2020 at Namboole Stadium. The tournament is organized to help Uganda Cranes prepare for CHAN,” the statement reads.
This development follows the suspension of the main African Nations Championship tournament by CAF on Tuesday which was slated for the 1st of April in Cameroon.
