Practice Match: Uganda U17 Girls Run Riot Against Watoto
Uganda U17 Girls have intenfied preparations for the first leg of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifier game against neighbors Tanzania.
The Ayub Khalifa coached side has put 11-0 past Watoto in a build up match played on Saturday afternoon at Watoto Bbira playground.
Captain Juliet Nalukenge and Margaret Kunihira scored hat-tricks apiece while Zaituni Namaganda scored twice.
Fauziah Najjemba, Brenda Munyana and Maureen Nangozi scored the other three goals to complete the riot over Watoto ladies team.
The game shapes the U17 Girls’ team prior to the Tanzania challenge slated for Saturday next week.
The team will now return to the residential camp at FUFA Hotel in Kisaasi ahead of the away tie.
Ugandan won Ethiopia in the return leg played in Bahir Dar 3-1 to advance on a 5-1 aggregate scoreline. Uganda had won the first leg played in Kampala 2-0 on round one.
Skipper Juliet Nalukenge bagged a brace while Margaret Kunihira added the other to guide Uganda to victory. Alegash Kalsa got the consolation for Ethiopia.
Tanzania will host the first leg at the National stadium, Dar es Salaam on 1st March with the return leg coming two weeks later at StarTimes stadium, Lugogo.
The winner on aggregate will play Cameroon at the next stage. The final tournament will be held in November 2020 in India.
