Anite to Open Egypt-Uganda Trade Show

The State Minister for investment and privatization Evelyn Anite is expected this morning to open Egypt-Uganda Invest and Trade Week aimed at promoting trade relationships between the two countries

The trade fair which will be running from 25th up to 27th February at UMA Show Ground will attract manufacturers from Egypt in sectors of Petrochemical, Plastics, Construction, packing among others.

Mahmoud Sayed Hassanin the undersecretary Ministry of Trade and Industry in Egypt told press yesterday that the trade show will provide a platform to Ugandan entrepreneurs to exchange ideas with their Egyptian counterparts.

“This trade fair has attracted to Uganda a number of Egyptian investors who will use it as a platform to study the business environment of Uganda so that they can be able to open up branches and employ Ugandans,” he said.

Mahmoud added that at this trade fair Ugandans will have an opportunity to learn on how to start small and become successful entrepreneurs

Emmanuel Hillary Kisanja from State House described this as one of the free chances which Ugandans will get to be exposed on modern production methods.

“I think this trade week is in line with the President’s initiative of attracting more foreign investors in the country to generate more revenue and jobs for Ugandans.”

He added that they are going to convince Egyptians to start production in Uganda after explaining to them the tax benefits on goods produced with in as well as the Buy Uganda Build (BUBU) policy.
