U.S. Chamber Honors Kenyatta with Outstanding Leaders Award
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s U.S.-Africa Business Center honored Uhuru Kenyatta, president of Kenya, with the Center’s Outstanding Leaders Award.
The U.S.-Africa Business Center presented the award in recognition of the President’s exemplary leadership in economic engagement and empowerment in the East Africa region.
“Since assuming office in 2013, President Kenyatta has been a champion for free enterprise on behalf of Kenyan businesses and workers alike. His administration has worked tirelessly to build a better relationship with the United States, resulting in greater market access, a more conducive business environment for U.S. and Kenyan companies, and job growth across the region,” said Scott Eisner, president, U.S. Chamber’s U.S.-Africa Business Center.
“We congratulate President Kenyatta on this much-deserved award and look forward to partnering with his administration to expand mutually beneficial trade and investment opportunities for years to come.”
The U.S.-Africa Business Center’s Outstanding Leaders Award is presented in recognition of exemplary regional, diplomatic, and economic leadership in Africa.
President Kenyatta was presented the award by Brionne Dawson, Senior Director of East and Southern Africa, U.S. Africa Business Center. Previous award recipients include: Senegal President Macky Sall in 2016 and Ghana President. H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo in 2018.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.
Its International Affairs division includes more than 70 regional and policy experts and 25 country- and region-specific business councils and initiatives. The U.S. Chamber also works closely with 117 American Chambers of Commerce abroad.
