UPL: Mutebi Admits His Team’s Incompetence Upfront
KCCA FC’s poor start to the season continued after a heavy 3-0 loss against BUL FC in the Uganda Premier League game played at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru on Tuesday.
This marked their second loss in the league out of the five games so far played, they won twice and drawn the other scoring only four goals in the process.
After BUL’s game, the 13 time Uganda Premier League champions head coach Mike Mutebi confessed that his players lack cutting edge in front of the goal and it’s the reason as to why they are struggling to find the back of the net.

“The players failed to convert the few chances created and we need an immediate solution about it,” Mutebi furiously said before adding.
“It is worrying that they don’t take away the chances, very worrying but we shall work on fixing it,” he added.
It should be noted that KCCA FC also failed to make it to the group stages of the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League yet it was their priority this season, they played to a one-all stalemate with Petro De Luanda at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo, a game they needed to win in order to make it happen.
Since that game, they went ahead to play three league games where they lost twice against Tooro United and BUL FC and drew against Bright Stars something which shocked Mutebi.
“It’s more challenging this season, it’s not going to be easy, we got a poor start to the season but this is a marathon and we are still in it and we have to carry on, we can’t be sorry for ourselves,” he noted.
In the same case, he praised BUL FC due to their performance and according to him, they deserved all the three points on the day.
“BUL has been the better and efficient side, they scored good goals and in the end they deserved maximum points,” he further noted.
A loss left KCCA FC 13th on the 16-team log with seven points from five games, their next game will be against second placed Onduparaka FC at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo on Friday October 11th.
