CAF Confederation Cup: Mutebi says it is all or nothing for KCCA FC

KCCA FC gaffer, Mike Mutebi has asked his players to fire on all cylinders if the team is to go past their opponents in the CAF Confederation Cup.

KCCA FC will on Sunday play against Algerian side Paradou FC in the Caf Confederation Cup qualifying fixture at the StarTimes Lugogo.

Speaking ahead of the game on Friday, Mutebi said they have watched clips about their Sunday opponents, noting that they know their weaknesses and strengths.

“We know clubs from Magreb use the ball very well and this has become a standard. The little clips we have watched they play very well on the counter whom we are aware. We have to deal with that challenge,”Mutebi said.

The KCCA FC coach said because their opponents play an attacking game on top of possessing the ball well, they would have to have more numbers in the enemy’s defence but also try to win the midfield from them.

“We must match them in as far as using ball is concerned especially in the midfield but also have a cutting edge them in the final third where the game is determined. They are very good on the ball and play on counter-attack. We shall have more bodies in their half because they play a counter-attack.”

All or nothing for KCCA

KCCA have faced five other Arab teams on the continent including Al-Masry, Esperance, Al-Ahly, Club Africain and FUS Rabat where Mutebi’s side has won four times at home.

KCCA FC was last month eliminated from the CAF Champions League by Angola’s Petro de Luanda at Lugogo and tomorrow’s game presents another chance for the team to pride on the continent.

Speaking ahead of the game with the Algerian team, the KCCA FC gaffer said they would do all it takes to ensure they qualify to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.

“We dropped out of Champions League. We shall try to do all we can to negotiate all we have to reach group stages and we have the capacity to do it. We have to win. It is all or nothing. There is no other chance to do it. We have to do everything in our capacity, ” he said.

He noted the boys must believe in themselves if they are to do the job.
